FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

At this time, I mainly offer teletherapy (remote) services. However, for individuals in particular locations, meetings in a park or a "walk and talk" session may be available. Please contact me to discuss further.

WHAT IS THE RESCHEDULING AND CANCELLATION POLICY?

At least 24-hour notification is required to reschedule and/or cancel a session. A session may be rescheduled within the same week at no charge. Without notification, you will be expected to pay for the full session.

WHICH ONLINE PLATFORM DO YOU USE?

For online/virtual/remote therapy and consultation/coaching sessions, I use doxy.me, a HIPAA-secure video platform. Prior to session, I will provide you with a link and then I will begin our video call at the session start time (no log-in required).

CAN WE MEET IN PERSON?

WILL MY INSURANCE COMPANY REIMBURSE ME FOR SESSIONS?

I am considered an out of network provider. Many clients are successful in receiving reimbursement and I will provide you with receipts/Superbills to submit to your insurance. Insurance reimbursement rates vary widely based on the specific plan. 

**Please call your insurance company and inquire about out-of-network mental health (behavioral health) benefits. Some helpful questions to ask include:

  • What percentage do they reimburse for 45-minute, weekly *online* therapy (teletherapy) sessions with a licensed psychologist? (Common CPT codes include 90834-95; 90846-95; 90847-95); Billing zip code is 10023)

  • Do you have a deductible to meet before receiving reimbursement, and is there is any preauthorization required? 

  • Is there is a limit to the annual number of sessions or to the number of sessions per week for which they will provide reimbursement?

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

If you would like to learn more, please contact me via phone or email to set up a free consultation call. If we decide to move forward, we will then schedule an initial intake session (typically 60 mins) during which I will gather important information about your background and goals for services. For children and adolescents, the intake is initially conducted with the parents.

WHAT ARE THE FEES AND PAYMENT OPTIONS?

Fees depend on the service and duration of session. Payment is expected at the time of service and is typically accepted via personal check or Zelle (electronically). Please contact me to discuss further.
